Cheveux chéris

Cheveux chéris

Frivolités et trophées

The use of hair as a universal, raw material represents of a kind of frivolity in the signs and symbols that seem to govern mankind.

The general structure of the exhibition is almost biographical, evolving from the frivolity of youth, towards inevitable loss caused by age or violence and ending with mourning and memory. As a relic, hair retains some of the aura and energy of its original owner. A large part of the exhibition is dedicated to these “mana” which have given birth to multiple objects around the world which are regarded as “magical” or at least endowed with powers that can be seized (coveted).
