Jacoulet

Un artiste voyageur en Micronésie

L'univers flottant de Paul Jacoulet

At the end of the 19th century, when he was still a child, Paul Jacoulet (1895-1960) arrived in Japan, a country which continued to fascinate him throughout his life and which he adopted as his own. Passionate about the arts and culture of Japan, Paul Jacoulet began to study graphic arts and traditional music at a very young age. Remarkably talented, he would become one of the last great masters of ukiyo-e, the Japanese art of woodblock printing.
