Publications Awards

As part of its mission as a "grand département" (French institution acting as a reference at national and international level) for non-European arts and to provide support for anthropological and art history research, the musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac will be awarding 5 prices of €6,000 each to publishable texts or texts published in scientific journals on non-European collections in French museums.

These texts must be written in French or English and be between 50,000 and 60,000 characters in length. They shall be examined by a selection committee based on the criteria applied to scientific journals.

Submissions must be sent before 1 November 2020 to  prixdespublications@quaibranly.fr


The results will be posted on 1 December.

Le Jury du Prix d’aide aux publications s’est réuni lundi 29 novembre 2021 sous la présidence d’Emmanuel Kasarhérou : 

A l’issue des délibérations, ont été déclaré.e.s lauréat.e.s pour l’année 2021 :

  • Guillaume ALEVEQUE "Le lever des Pléiades : la ritualisation de la culture à Tahiti" (Editions Depaysage)
  • Caroline DAMIENS "Des deux côtés de la caméra. Une histoire filmique des peuples autochtones du Nord sur les écrans soviétiques" (Presses Universitaires de Rennes)
  • Valérie PERLES "Un roman dahoméen. Francis Aupiais et Bernard Maupoil, deux ethnologues en terrain colonial" (Editions B42)
