Description
Légende de la planche : "Plate VIII. Hahai wuhti, a Kachina mother, is full of clownish good humor as she runs about jabbering in a high falsetto voice. The white mask has a downy eagle feather on top and a red bang between two small whorls of black hair. She wears dress, belt, moccasins and a red and black bordered maiden's blanket. In her right hand she holds a perfect ear of white corn while her left carries a gourd filled with water. In the course of her antics she often will pour water over the heads of her spectators. She is always found in the Pachavu procession and occasionally wih other Kachina groups".[Impression de la planche légèrement floue.]
