A new image festival featuring photography and multimedia is to be held in Paris. Initiated by the quai Branly Museum, the festival will be held on a biennial basis and will focus on the ‘non western’ world. Photoquai will alternate with Paris’ Photo Month. The first event will be held from 30th October to 25th November 2007 on the banks of the Seine and in a dozen renowned Parisian institutions, partnered with the quai Branly Museum.
About the biennial
The first 2007 event will combine open-air exhibitions with indoor displays of silver prints as well as seminars and workshops at the institutions. The heart of the exhibition will be situated between the Eiffel Tower and the Pont de L’Alma, with the Seine functioning as a strong, symbolic image. In parallel with the exhibitions scheduled to take place at the institutions, and in keeping with the ‘public’ nature of the event, Photoquai will offer free open-air exhibitions on the banks of the Seine alongside the quai Branly Museum. These exhibitions form Photoquai's central core and constitute the link between the different institutions.
