Although all eyes are currently on China, other long-standing Asian players are present throughout the region - Japan, South Korea and Taiwan (present in Central America) – along with more recent players like India. The United States carries out joint actions to consolidate its economic ties with Asia, as demonstrated by the negotiations regarding the Pacific Alliance (Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico) with the ASEAN with a view to establishing a free trade agreement.
