Ethnologists, sociologists, artist and image historians are invited to share their experiences and thoughts on how to produce and express still images and the respective virtues of these images and their association.
Extending the issue of the French Ethnological journal "Arrêt sur images. Photographie et Anthropologie", this international conference will provide a forum for debate on how to combine photography and film at different stages of research in human sciences and the artistic creation process.
Experts and theorists will meet to discuss the cross-cutting theme of associating photographic and film images; why and how bring them together, cross-reference them, blend them and combine them?
The participants will embark on a joint reflection on photography and cinema, using still and animated images simultaneously or successively. Is this not because they consider that both tools are complementary and that combining them allows for a greater capacity to capture reality?
