To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of independence, various events focused on the emergence of - young - African cinema, whether through screenings at the BNF or the special edition DVD produced by the Centre National de la Cinématographie.
With one exception (the programme for the film festival in Créteil), the contribution and role of women film makers are rarely emphasised.
The aim of this two-part event supported by PATRIMA is therefore to rectify this oversight by celebrating forty years of the emergence of African cinema produced by women.
