The subject of this symposium will be to examine the anthropological perspectives of parenthood and clarify the contributions as well as the limits and excesses of the work of Esther Goody. The selected papers and texts can offer insight into the theoretical aspects and/or ethnographic areas in Africa and elsewhere.
