To mark the release of the second issue of Poli – Politique de l’image, the journal is organising a round table at the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac on the representation of ethno-racial minorities in humour.
Many authors and actors have used humour over the last twenty years to relate and laugh at discrimination and stereotypes.
This round table discussed how humour addresses the question of post colonialism, racism and identities.
The writer François Bégaudeau, journalist Rokhaya Diallo, film maker Michel Hazanavicius, sociologist Éric Macé and Film and Audiovisual Professor Raphaëlle Moine debated the place of ethno-racial minorities in comedy with Nelly Quemener based on extracts from the INA's audio-visual archives.
