Légende de la planche : "Plate XV. Hemis Kachina mana accompanies the Hemis Kachina. The hair is dressed in Hopi fashion. A downy eagle feather projects from the top of the yellow mask which is covered with a thin veil of red hair. A t the base is a rainbow with a turquoise inlay at each end, below which is a fringe of small feathers. The belt, blanket and dress bordered with silver buttons are the same as previously noted. S he carries a hollow gourd, notched stick and scapula (not shown) with which one of the basic rhythmical accompaniments of the song is produced".
