Since it was founded at the Musée de l'Homme in 1977, the ‘Société des études euro-asiatiques’ (known as the SEEA) (an association under the law of 1901) has set itself the goal of promoting interdisciplinary studies on Eurasia, that immense continental entity stretching from the Far East to the Far West.
In association with the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, the SEEA produces an annual publication (the Eurasia collection), as well as conferences, bringing to a wider public the original approaches that the human sciences are opening up, developing and comparing. The SEEA is now working to promote an intercultural perspective in Eurasia.
