Friends of the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac
Founded in 2002 by Mr. Louis Schweitzer, and chaired from 2014 to 2018 by Mr. Lionel Zinsou, then by Mrs. Françoise de Panafieu from the end of 2018 to 2022, and finally by Mrs. Emmanuelle Henry since 2023, the Society of Friends of the Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac museum supports the museum's development and its influence in France and abroad. It has chosen to focus on three types of action: restoring works of art, enriching collections and supporting research.
The mission of the Museum Friends has expanded with the creation of two Donors' circles: The Levi-Strauss Circle in 2009, then the Circle for Photography in 2015, whose purpose has been extended to contemporary art and who is therefore called now The Circle for Photography and contemporary Art.
Throughout the year, Friends enjoy privileged access to the life of the museum:
- Priority and permanent access to collections and exhibitions
- Previews and private tours of permanent collections and temporary exhibitions
- Meetings with curators and collectors
- Trips in France and abroad
- Privileged access to behind the scenes of the museum
